Texas A&M University utilizes centralized email services. Two services are offered to faculty. The College of Liberal Arts standard is the centrally administered Exchange service, with the option for faculty to also claim an account from the central TAMU Google service.
If an individual claims more than one email account, it is highly recommended that email be actually stored and accessed from a single mail store. This means that email from either Exchange or Gmail is forwarded to the other account, based on the preference of the individual.
TAMU uses a generic email address of the form ‘NetID@tamu.edu’. This format allows faculty and staff to publicize this address and be able to change the actual email software application without impacting email service. The general ‘NetID@tamu.edu’ address is not an actual email box, but is a forwarding address.
The application Aggie Account Gateway can be used to set the actual email mailbox service to be used.
Please contact your departmental IT support staff via email at LiberalArtsIT@tamu.edu or call 979-845-5565 for assistance with your university email account.
